A Message from Monica

Hi, Everyone
I do hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. I always like it when Easter, Passover and Ramadan happen at the same time—all of these ancient holidays talk about hope and give us time to think about our responsibility to each other and the world. Seems like the perfect year for so many of us to be sending out this message at the same time! I celebrated Easter on Saturday in Orange County with my three grandkids and two of my kids. We had a great day.
Now for the shop. I can’t believe we still have fabric left but then everybody reminds me that this was a very big shop with thousands of bolts. We are down to a few hundred now and you know we never have an ugly piece of fabric at Monica’s! We still have a lot of great patterns, too. We’re selling the shelving that held the fabric—is it time to reorganize at home? Maybe your sewing room needs a fresh look. Many have sold but there are more to be had.
And on the bead side, we still have seed beads and Delicas--which I can’t believe because I can tell you I’ve never seen Delicas on sale anywhere in my life. And lots and lots of gemstones. Since we haven’t taught classes is almost two years and travel wasn't happening, we were really loaded with great stuff in the bead room. Grab it while you can!
The stock is winding down which is very bittersweet for me but I am looking forward to retirement and being able to do what I want to do when I want to do it. I finished a black and white log cabin that I started as a demo on Facebook back when the pandemic first started. Now I’m working on my Ukraine quilts and I’m having a blast. I’m making a baby doll quilt to send also, and I plan to make one for myself using the leftover half square triangles that I cut off the star points.
While I write this, I’m looking at my backyard with all my pretty flowers and a beautiful bird. I do love being home—plus I get to be a gramma this week and watch Riley. And I’m making a list of all the cool things my creative customers and friends have shared with me over the years—now I will have time to play, too! So, don’t be surprised if I call you one day out of the blue and ask to come over so you can show me how you did that….just sayin’!

Our hours this week continue to be:
Monday thru Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

    Happy creating--

-Monica
