Hello, everyone.
Well, I definitely know I’m not as young as I used to be after vending at the Pacific International Quilt Show. It’s always been a lot of work but this year it seemed really brutal. Running back and forth to the van loading and unloading, setting up, being “on stage” all day for several days, tearing down and then loading & unloading again sure takes a toll on one. Thank goodness Letty was with me! And it was so good to see everybody. Again, another bittersweet moment in my life--I’ve been a vendor at that show for 30 years. A big thank you to everyone who came by our booth.
So, on to the shop. Our Annual Bra and Underwear Drive starts November 1. Last year we collected over 800 new bras, under pants and socks for people of all sizes, shapes, ages and genders. This year I would love to take over 1000 items to the Mission. When you’re out shopping for your loved ones please remember to pick up some of these items to donate. We will take everything to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission where they will really help some folks in need. As our thank you, each item you bring in earns you a ticket for a chance to win one of our two $100.00 Monica’s gift certificates. You never know--this could be your year to win.
As you know, we’ve been cleaning out the back room for months now and it’s starting to look pretty good. After over 30 years, even though we do sell some of them, I have so many samples it’s just unbelievable. Now that I’m retiring I have to get serious about letting go of some amazing quilts, bags, clothing, things for your, we have decided that instead of having a Black Friday sale like everyone else, we’re going to have a huge sample sale and call it Bright Friday & Saturday. For two days after Thanksgiving come in and pick up beautiful, retired samples—these make fabulous gifts for yourself or someone else. If you haven’t finished that quilt or purse, give a handmade gift anyway by taking advantage of these one-of-a-kind items selling at fabulous prices.
