Hello, everyone.
I hope you had a fabulous weekend—and if you purchased our Mystery Quilt, Barbara’s Antiques, I hope you got to work on your quilt. We had a few hiccoughs but they were quickly solved and I hope everybody was happy with their blocks. Remember, come into the shop to buy your Mystery Quilt backing/batting and we’ll give you 15% off! Please send pictures of your finished quilts to info@monicasquiltandbead.com. We can’t wait to see your quilts and share them on the website. If you didn’t join us for this mystery, the pattern will be available in a couple weeks on our website. Again, thank you so very much for all your support, ladies and gentlemen.
So now we move on to the Reindeer Dash. I think about this event and I know it will be my last one as a shop owner--it’s the “last” of a lot of things in my life. Such mixed feelings--I feel sad but happy, too, about the next chapter. I hope everyone joins us Thursday through Saturday for the Dash. Of course, my quilt is darling, my block is gorgeous and we do have kits available for purchase. We will put them in our webstore if we have any left after the event. Remember--during the Dash you will get 15% off those wonderful Wool Pressing Mats that I love so much. I think everyone needs one. It’s a gift to yourself. And you deserve it! My wonderful staff has worked very, very hard on this event (like they do on every event.) I have to give a shout out for my little quilter, Hester Mastro. I keep throwing quilt tops at her almost every day. She’s stepped up to the plate and quilted every one of them for us while still taking care of her regular longarm customers. She’s unbelievable. And Deb, one of our other quilters, came back from Canada and had time to quilt my little Reindeer Dash quilt. I’m so lucky to have all these people in my life. I don’t know of another shop owner who has the support that I have.
Beaders, if you haven’t picked up your finishing charm or participation gifts from the Bead Hop you need to do that by October 31st or I will be sending them back to Svea, the keeper of all things SCLBSA. If you can’t make it into the shop, please give us a call and we’ll make arrangements to ship them.
Letty and I head up to the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara on Tuesday--thank goodness she’s going with me. Setting up and taking down quilt shows used to be okay by myself, but not so much anymore! I can’t wait to see all my quilting buddies up in the bay area--it’s another one of those "last times" for me. After 30 some years of doing that show I will certainly miss seeing all my old friends—maybe I can go up as a quilter instead of a vendor? If you are in the area, I hope to see you next weekend.
We've got loads of new fabric--take a look at What's New below. We are putting kits together for several of the collections. We'll share those with you next week.
     Happy quilting and beading!

-Monica

Classes, Classes, Classes!

On The Bead Side

Theresa an Rose Mary are now teaching limited classes in person at the shop. Here's how it works: to schedule with Rose Mary, give the shop a call. Theresa's classes are from 10 to 1 most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class dates are listed on the website. The first 3 students to register on a given day determine what will be taught. There are links to Theresa's catalogs of 1 and 2 session classes below and on the website class pages. Theresa will contact you by phone to confirm your choice, talk about supplies, answer questions and schedule other sessions, if needed.
