Hi, Everyone.
Phew! I finally made it back from the Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival by Rusty Barn in Denver—I did take a little extra time driving since I was by myself. And the trip wasn’t all work--I took time to see lots of friends and family while in the area. I was able to visit my little sister plus another sister and brother-in-law, do the show and see all my friends--and of course returning/new customers! The show was phenomenal and so much fun--Rusty Barn works hard to promote their vendors. In fact, this afternoon I’ll be the guest on their Wild Wednesdays, live at 2:00. Be sure to turn in to their Facebook page (click here) to see me demonstrate Aunties Two Woven Basket pattern and Cheryl will show you how to make a Zippered Bottle Bag from one our favorite books, Simple, Fun and Quickly Done.
I was practically in tears (of joy) when I came home to find the shop well on the way to being ready for the Quilt Run. I have the most wonderful staff taking care of me. Evelia, Letty, Vanessa & Dalia had almost everything moved and a bunch of displays set up, Rosemary helped us with our pillow sample (most quilters don’t want to make ruffles!!) and Mary quilted our block. Like I said, I have a fabulous staff. Rosemary, of course, outdid herself by making her It’s Too Darn Hot steering wheel cover with our block pattern. Wait until you see it! Our display will be fabulous. The show starts tomorrow, July 15,Thursday through Saturday, and again next weekend. Visit the quiltersrun.com website for the scoop on prizes, locations, hours and more.
On another high note we had our first “in person” class at the shop with Theresa. A very good customer, Lori, got some friends together and took bead class here. It was the first class we’ve had in 17 months. It was so good to hear laughter in the back room again. Everyone had a wonderful time. So, on that note we’ll be starting up our Wednesday night Sit-n-Sew on August 4 from 5 to 8:30 with Theresa. Some of our other teachers are ready to get on board, too. We’re putting the schedule together and will let you know who, what and when over the next few weeks. Lots to do as we return to something close to “normal” quilt shop activities.
I can’t wait to see all of you during the Run. Happy quilting and beading, everyone--I hope to see you soon!

Grab some friends and earn chances to win some great prizes while visiting your favorite Southern California quilt shops. Someone will win a new sewing machine--not to mention the gift baskets each shop gives away.
Here's our Cactus Garden block--the pattern is free to runners. Kits will be available for purchase while they last and we have lots of great products to make the block go together quickly and easily.

And, as a thank you, pre-registered hoppers will get the annual custom charm free of charge, plus, your passport will be ready for you when you arrive at your registered starting store!

A big "Thank you" to those who have already brought in Love Bugs to donate. Reach out to children in need--make a soft, cuddly Love Bug with our free pattern. This is part of a national project--Click Here to read more about it.
