Hi, Everyone.
What’s new in the shop? I barely know! I’ve been very busy packing up my house. One never realizes how much stuff you have after living in the same home for 43 years—until you have to move! It’s a bit of a nightmare really--everybody in the family has offered to help but you know, they really can’t. There’s no way I’m letting someone else can decide what to get rid of and what to pack in my studio (right??) and all the memorabilia…wow. Been quite a job. I’m spending time every day walking through so many memories. I saved lots of things over the years “for my kids” but, really, nobody wants all that old stuff. So, I’m fondling, dumping, donating, recycling and looking forward to the next chapter--making new memories with my Patric.

Of course, just before escrow closes I am heading to the Rusty Barn show in Denver. Good timing, don't ya think? I leave here July 5th and the show runs July 8, 9 and 10.  So, I hope to see all of my customers in the Denver, Colorado area at the show.

Since Evelia has been gone for two weeks, Letty and her two daughters have been running the store. I love it when I come in and see that everything in the shop looks different. That makes me smile.
It's time to retire this wall quilt kit--Good Vibrations starts with a fabulous panel and adds an easy border and corners--a good quilt for confident beginners and beyond. I've marked it down 40% to just $50.02! Grab them while you can. Limited to stock on hand.

Last Thursday, Letty and her daughter, Dahlia, did a presentation on Facebook introducing Moda’s Sew a Love Bug project. Sorry about the sound not being loud enough--you know we’re kind of new at this. And, I’m definitely not any good at all the technical stuff. But I really need everyone to make me some cuddly love bugs and bring them to the shop so we can donate them to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. If you don’t have your free pattern yet, stop by the shop and pick one up--all we ask is a Love Bug or two (or three?) in return! Tale a look below to see the photos we shared last week, in case you missed them. Aren't these cute little bugs?
I hope everybody’s marking their calendars for the big Quilt Run that’s coming up next month. As you might already know, this year’s theme is Sew What’s in Your Garden and each shop has chosen a different kind of garden as its theme. Our Cactus Garden block is the best, of course! Vanessa (Letty’s other daughter--the one who has been working at the shop for a couple of years now) designed the pattern for us again this year and it was quilted by our own Mary Gorfine. The kits will be available beginning the first day of the Run--which is July 15th. Check out What’s Happening below and the Southern California Quilters Run website for more information.
As promised, more holiday fabrics came in plus a new canvas-look print for bag making and more. You can see them in What's New.
Don't forget to check out the Zoom classes Theresa is offering. She's got dates up for the next couple of months. It’s fun to take a class in your own workspace!
Happy quilting and beading, everyone--I hope to see you soon!
