A Message from Monica

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Mine was kind of quiet. I just don’t know what day it is with the holidays coming in the middle of the week--I’m a little confused! I can’t wait to get back to normal (lol) whatever that is for me.
We are really cleaning out LOTS of stuff all over the shop as we get ready for our Yard Sale on January 18. Beaders,—you’re in for a treat. We have always had a lot of bargains for the quilters but not much for you--not fair, right? So, I have taken a hard look at the bead room and decided we need some new colors in Delica and seed beads, BUT in order to do that we need to get rid of some of the old colors. Let me tell you it’s harder than you think. Rose Mary is helping--I want to take half of what she’s pulled off the shelves home for me! So, this year, along with the quilters I hope to see lots of beaders.
I'm excited about the classes for next quarter. We have two guest teachers joining us: Deb Pace returns with her wonderful Zentangle classes. There is something for beginners as well as experienced "tanglers." And, Mary Shay will be here in March to teach you how to make an exquisite ribbon embroidery piece call Spring Bouquet. You can see Deb's classes by clicking here, and Mary's class by clicking here. We have a full line-up of new and returning classes on both sides of the shop. They are up on the website and the newsletter is ready to pick up in the shop or download (click here.)Take a  look at Classes below to see what's coming up in the next 3 months.
mini havana Speaking of classes, we love it when customers share their finished projects with us. Anne Hicks sent us this photo of her Laura Heine collage quilt. Nice job, Anne!
Road to California tickets are available at the quilt register while they last. $16 for a multi-day wrist band, cash only and NO REFUNDS! The money goes directly to the shows organizers—we offer this as a service to help you avoid long ticket lines at the show. For more information, visit the Road to California website.
Check out What's New, What's Happening & Classes below to see sewing and jewelry classes with links for more information. Plus, lots of new things came in--read on to check it all out!

We hope to see you soon--
-Monica

What's New

Lots of things come into the store each week--some new, some returning. We can't share everything, but here are some of our favorites.

roundabout
The 15" diameter Roundabout jelly roll tote makes a great project bag, beach or shopping bag. Fusible foam makes it stand up or, for a softer bag use fusible fleece or batting in place of the foam.

rev it up pattern
Does your foot control walk more than you do? This nifty little Rev It Up pattern goes over your foot control and will keep it from sliding all over the floor. It uses gripper utility fabric on the underside to keep it from slipping, and vinyl on the top to keep your feet from getting the fabric dirty.

jelly bean pattern
This jellyroll bag can be made the size you like by simply adding or decreasing the tubes.
heat wave
Heat Wave is a cute one-day project can be made using a fat quarter and scraps. Use it to store your curling iron or flat iron, mini applique iron or crystal application iron. This would make a GREAT gift item or something for a bazaar.
coaster set
Create a designer coaster set in a fabric holder. The silicone protects surfaces against hot, cold and wet beverages.

Four transparent silicone coaster pieces, instructions and template are included in the pattern

tilas

Check out these tubes of assorted tilas! Each tube has enough beads in 3 sizes to make this memory wire wrap. Three color ways.
This kit starts with a War Bonnet panel from the Red Rock Reflections collection. The quilt measures approx. 42" x 57" and sells for $72. 95. The pottery and cactus fabrics below, though not in this quilt, are part of the same group of fabrics.
