A Message from Monica

Hi, Everyone.
Wow! What a week I had in Nashville. My birthday celebration is still going on--and my birthday isn’t until December 20th. I am a very blessed girl to be loved by so many.
Our Holiday party was a huge success. Everyone had a great time stocking up on batting and backings. Beaders were getting things they need for upcoming classes. Smart shoppers! Here’s a photo of some of the items you donated, Wendy Ackerman and Vanessa McKay helping me pick the winning tickets, and one of our gift certificate winners, Sally Harman. The Sun City Palm Desert Quilters won the other gift certificate. Congratulations to our winners and a BIG thank you to all who donated underwear for the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission.

Our next big party will be the Yard Sale on January 18. For those of you who haven’t been to this annual event, we let go of things for practically nothing. We not only clear out and clean out to make room for all the new things coming in, but we make grab bags of all the fabric pieces that are too small for fat quarters left after cutting for kits, etc--and this year I plan to move more stuff than ever. And beaders, look out! This year there will be lots for you--the girls have been cleaning and I want things gone. Check out What's Happening below for more information.
The classes for next quarter are up on the website and the newsletter is ready for download (click here.) We have returning faves as well as new classes: Deborah Pace is returning with several Zentangle classes; Theresa has a great little Cell Phone Clutch bag; Hester's Jelly Roll Tote is simple as pie; Cheryl is offering 2 technique classes you are sure to appreciate: Easy Fabric Ropes from Strips and Mult-Layer Fabric Cutting for Unique Blocks. Rose Mary has been exploring sashiko hand stitching and has 2 new classes: Sashiko Needle Case and Sashiko Sampler. Dessie added a trio of Memory Wire Bracelets and a Blonde Choker to her class line-up and the other beading teachers have several updated samples in the cases using current colors and styles with traditional techniques. Download the 1st Quarter Newsletter to see classes and events.
Road to California tickets are available at the quilt register while they last. $16 for a multi-day wrist band, cash only and NO REFUNDS! The money goes directly to the shows organizers—we offer this as a service to help you avoid long ticket lines at the show. For more information, visit the Road to California website.
Check out What's New, What's Happening & Classes below to see sewing and jewelry classes with links for more information. Plus, lots of new things came in--read on to check it all out!

Please enjoy your family and friends during this special time of the year.

What's New

Lots of things come into the store each week--some new, some returning. We can't share everything, but here are some of our favorites.

Two new patterns perfect for cork came in--of course they would also be great in fabric, or a combination of cork and fabric. (Sorry--the little narwahl tag is not included--that is the pattern designer's logo.)

The Tall Wallet with ID Slot has two cash slots, ten card slots, a clear ID slot, and zippered coin pouch along the back. Checks will fit as well! It closes with a magnetic snap and measures roughly 7" x 7.25"--the perfect handheld accessory.

This slim Key Fob Wallet features 2 card slots that hold at least 3 cards each, a zippered area along the back for coins, an ID window, and folded cash can go under both card slot pockets. The detachable wristlet strap doubles as a key fob. This little wallet keeps all of your belongings safe by clasping with a magnetic snap on its tab.
