Thanksgiving Weekend Sale, Purse patterns, turquoise beads, cabochons and more

Monica's Message
A Message from Monica

Christmas pinsHi, Everyone.
Look at the darling new decorative pins that came in from Isabelle just in time for holiday gift giving. From France to you!
When you read, this I will be getting ready to have 57 family members and friends for Thanksgiving! I am so blessed. Patric and I are both from very large families and many of them are coming again this year for Thanksgiving. I have seven brothers and sisters and Patric has 5. Our weather has been so beautiful for the last 5 years that is seems only natural to celebrate in the desert. Well, guess what? This year it is supposed to rain--lots and lots of rain! So, Monday I spent the morning securing a tent for my backyard or front yard—it’s not my job to figure out where it goes. My brothers, nephews and son-in-law are working on that part of the party. I just have to work on all the food!
My mom flew in on Monday and is so happy with everyone around. She loves to play Left, Right, Center and seems to take everyone’s money. (That’s because no one wants to have her put the curse on you!) There’s a puzzle on the table and you can’t leave without putting in ten pieces. She just loves sitting there talking with all her kids, grandkids and great grandkids plus all of our friends (who grew up in our home) that stop by. Everyone wants to come see my mom!
So my wonderful staff is once again holding down the shop. And we are having such a great sale this Friday, Saturday and Sunday: All Christmas and Halloween panels are 25% off, all Christmas and Halloween fabrics, 1 yard minimum cut are 25% off (including pre-cut yards,) all fat quarter packets are 25% off and selected Christmas kits are 25% off.
PLUS we are still clearing samples out of the backroom. I wanted to keep all the purse samples—I LOVE them—but have to admit we are out of space back there. It makes no sense to keep them (tell that to my heart.) And we have gone through more quilt samples and are letting them go for basically the cost of the fabric. So, make some time to come see us over the weekend and pick up some bargains.mondo bag
Theresa is offering her Mondo Madness class next week and needs another student to meet our minimum. This roomy, good looking bag is built on a fusible grid making it easy to match every seam perfectly.
The classes for next quarter are up on the website and the newsletter will be ready for download later this week. We have returning faves as well as new classes: Deborah Pace is returning with several Zentangle classes; Theresa has a great little Cell Phone Clutch bag; Hester's Jelly Roll Tote is simple as pie; Cheryl is offering 2 technique classes you are sure to appreciate: Easy Fabric Ropes from Strips and Mult-Layer Fabric Cutting for Unique Blocks. Rose Mary has been exploring sashiko hand stitching and has 2 new classes: Sashiko Needle Case and Sashiko Sampler. Dessie added a trio of Memory Wire Bracelets and a Blonde Choker to her class line-up and the other beading teachers have several updated samples in the cases using current colors and styles with traditional techniques.
Please remember my bra and underwear drive. Last year we gave over 500 pieces to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission but I would love to beat our record from a couple of years ago of 856 items. Help us reach our goal of at least 900 items this year. Men, women, children—all ages and all sizes are in need. Remember, two lucky winners will each receive a 100.00 gift certificate to the store. You'll receive one drawing ticket for each item. Bring in a 6-pack of panties, that's 6 tickets. Please, if you are bringing in any used bras these must be in like-new condition--maybe you’ve worn it once or twice and it just isn’t working. We can no longer except gently used underwear. Only new underwear in its original package qualifies for the drawing. Thank you for understanding.

Just a heads up—there will be no Sit and Sew this Wednesday (the night before Thanksgiving.)
It’s that time already! Road to California tickets are available at the quilt register. They are $16 for a multi-day wrist band, cash only and NO REFUNDS! The money goes directly to the shows organizers—we offer this as a service to help you avoid long ticket lines at the show. For more information, visit the Road to California website.
Check out What's New, What's Happening & Classes below to see sewing and jewelry classes with links for more information. Plus, lots of new things came in--read on to check it all out!
Please enjoy your family and friends during this special time of the year.
