Monica's Message
A Message from Monica

ornamentHi, Everyone.
Good morning. What’s with the weather? I thought it was Fall but somehow our beautiful cool weather went away and we are WARM again. Isn’t Thanksgiving coming soon? We need crisp, cool Fall days with snow on the mountains around us! Just sayin'...
I’m taking a few days off this week to spend time my guy. Poor Patric doesn’t get to see me very much during these busy show months. We’re heading to the beach so he can surf and I can sit on the sand and read. But, I’ll be back Friday to get us ready to head north to Puyallup, WA for the Rusty Barn show starting on the 21st.
Don't you love Rose Mary's little Rivoli and Duo Diamond ornament? Her sample is based on a design featured in the new Beadwork magazine. If you'd like to learn how to make this, join her for Sit-n-Bead next Monday evening (November 18) from 5 to 9 pm. It's just $15 for the evening. Call the shop for details and to register.
Remember, we are making it easy for quilters and beaders to "give back!" with our annual Bra and Panty Drive ...when you are out shopping for your family and friends remember to pick up an extra item or two for folks at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. We are collecting underwear (bras, socks, undershirts, underpants) for all ages, sizes, shapes and genders. Two lucky winners will each receive a 100.00 gift certificate to the store. You'll receive one drawing ticket for each item. Bring in a 6-pack of panties, that's 6 tickets. Please, if you are bringing in any used bras these must be in like-new condition--maybe you’ve worn it once or twice and it just isn’t working. We can no longer except gently used underwear. Only new underwear in its original package qualifies for the drawing. Thank you for understanding.
It’s that time already! Road to California tickets are available at the quilt register. They are $16 for a multi-day wrist band, cash only and NO REFUNDS! The money goes directly to the shows organizers—we offer this as a service to help you avoid long ticket lines at the show. For more information, visit the Road to California website.

If you've got a fabric with a big repeat and aren't sure what to create with it, check out Cheryl's Stack-n-Whack Kaleidoscope class on Wednesday, November 20. We need 1 or 2 more students for this class to "go." You will be amazed at the fabulous and varied blocks you get from just one fabric.
stack and whack

Remember, we offer over 100 different jewelry making classes and our schedule is flexible. Be the first to sign up on an instructor's teaching day and you determine what's taught. Check out Classes below to see sewing and jewelry classes with links for more information. Plus, lots of new things came in--read on to check it all out!
We hope to see you soon.

better basics As far as I'm concerned, one can never have enough black and white prints! A nice variety came in--geometrics, little cats, florals, music...
Several prints from Kaufman's Out of Print collection arrived. These feature vintage ephemera and are great for collage backgrounds, bags and more.
