Hi, Everyone.
Yes! I am home for a whole week. Thank goodness! I plan to hide at home all weekend and get ready for the 52 people Patric and I have coming for Thanksgiving.
Quilt Market in Houston was great. I found some wonderful fabrics, restocked Isabelle’s embroidery kits, picked up some new notions and ordered lots of interesting things that will be coming in 2020. And the cork that is arriving in November is unreal. Just look! I ordered 80 pieces of cactus cork"cactus" cork. You can see 3 more gorgeous cork prints in What’s New below. Trust me—jump on these when they come in. I promise they will be sold out right away. I only hope I ordered enough to last for Road to California. The cactus cork is 18 x 27 and we are selling it for $34.95. If you place a phone order there is an additional charge of $3.95 plus regular shipping ‘cause we have to ship it in a tube. Hmmm…maybe you’ll just have to take a trip out to the desert when it comes in!
I also ordered all of Dale “the Quilting Cowboy” fabric from Wyndham—it’s a very masculine-looking line. This is going to be great for my Desert Quilting Retreat kits. So many of the gals have asked for “guy quilt” kits. That line is due next April. I also have some chenille coming to enhance panels. Wait till you see the sample next month!
Of course the quilt show was absolutely....well...I was inspired, awed and filled with pride when I saw these two quilts from our own Cheryl Quesnel and Helen Anderson. Wow!

I will keep you updated as things come in from market.

What's Happening
David Horste is a lapidary artist living in Portland, OR who loves designing focal beads using unusual gemstones and found objects. His beads can be worn alone on a chain or cable as a pendant or can be incorporated into more elaborate designer necklaces. He is especially known for his work with fordite aka Detroit Agate--these amazing pieces are carved and polished from the acrylic paint build-up in spray booths during the process of painting cars! You can purchase directly from him on Thursday, October 31 and Friday, November 1 during his trunk show at the shop.

What's New

Lots of things come into the store each week--some new, some returning. We can't share everything, but here are some of our favorites.

Here are 3 more amazing cork prints that will arrive in November. I can't wait to see what you create with them! (Note: the photos are a little distorted because the cork was hanging in the vendor's booth when Monica snapped the pics at Quilt Market.) poppy cork

Two fabulous new panels came in from Lorelei. Each features her signature characters and will put a smile on your face no matter your mood. There are multiple images in panel--here's are close-ups of portions of Sew Curious! and Golf Happy so that you can see the details.
