A Message from Monica

hop basket   Wow! It was great to be home for two and half weeks and work at the shop during the Bead Hop. A big “Thank you” to all who came out and enjoyed the fun. Our basket winner is Chris White. Lucky guy! We look forward to seeing you in the shop soon to pick up your basket. All the other winners are listed on the www.sclbsa.org website. Calls were made on Monday for all the “participation” winners and the finishing charms and the prizes can be picked up at your home store.
Many of you have stopped by the shop to see all the bag samples Evelia and I cleaned out of our storeroom and put out for sale. These make great gifts--and you don’t have to make them—they’re already made!
We are working through all the quilt samples now, so if you need that gift and don’t have time to make a quilt, stop by to see what we have.
I hope you are planning to grab some friends and join us for the Reindeer Dash. I have a new tool to share with all of you this time. I promise that you’re going to love it! And, no, I’m not telling you what it is ahead of time. I hope to see all of you so you’ll be the first ones to get it.
Classes are in full swing, the newsletter is at the shop or can be downloaded by clicking here.

What's New

Lots of things come into the store each week--some new, some returning. We can't share everything, but here are some of our favorites.

Scatterpatch Patches of bright color scattered across a sea of background! The quilt top is pieced from half square triangles, blocks and strips. The Scatterpatch pattern has fabric requirement for making it with 4 color groups (as shown) or scrappy. 63x72.
Bargello quilts consist entirely of straight seams and rectangular pieces, yet create the mesmerizing optical illusion of graceful movement, waves, and curves. It looks complex and difficult but any beginner quilter who can sew a straight seam can master the necessary skills. Jelly Roll Bargello Quilts  explains the process clearly with easy-to-follow instructions, visual diagrams, and step-by-step photography for 14 small projects.
Jelly Roll Bargello quilts
Let the Music Play 3 bolts of fabric featuring orchestra instruments came in last week. Let the Music Play is a nice mix of prints on different backgrounds.
If you love unicorns (or all things Laura Heine) you'll want to make Nola. This pattern has improved photos for understanding her unique process and better instructions for successfully adding a collage background. We have several bolts of her fabulous florals, similar to those you see in the background of this pattern.  Nola
Unknown voyage kit  unknown voyage panel
We have 14 prints plus this panel from the unknown Voyage collection. Shades of chestnut, ivory, chocolate, tan & fawn add to the vintage feel. Kits for the 67 x 89 quilt will be ready soon.
