A Message from Monica

Good morning!
I hope everyone had a relaxing Labor Day. Since I had Sunday off, my daughter Maria planned for all of us to take family pictures up in Idyllwild. Reiley and MiguelThe whole family met up there and our little Miss Reiley did not want to do this. She cried and cried and cried--even in the arms of her favorite uncle! Just look at that pouty face! First time we’ve seen this ever. We still took the pictures (lol)… not sure how they’ll turn out. We’ll have to see when get them back.
The San Diego Quilt Show was wonderful. It’s so nice to see everyone. Miguel and I love going to this show because we can walk from our hotel down to the convention center and eat our way around town. We even went to see Dream House at the San Diego Repertory Theatre’s Latinx New Play Festival--they’re thinking about moving the show to one of the casinos nearby. We’ll let you know when and where...
bead hop bracelet    So, the Bead Hop starts this weekend. Our wonderful Rose Mary is heading up our crew and we simply cannot wait to see the costumes she’s creating. You'll get a charm from each shop, the charm bracelet at your 3rd shop and you can go home with a fabulous make-it-take it half-cuff leather bracelet ($15 for the kit.) Plus all of our strands of semi-precious stones will be 30% off! This is a great time to see all the wonderful bead shops in Southern California and get some great leather half cuffbuys. Pick up a brochure at the shop or check it out here: Southern California Local Bead Store Association.
We're gearing up for Season with a fantastic line up of classes--click here to download a copy of our Newsletter for September thru December. Take a look at Classes below to see what we are offering. Susie has several quick and fun new quilts for you to make (Eight O 'Clock, I-Beams, Heat Wave, Licorice Medley) and if you are starting to think about holiday gifts, check out Cheryl's news classes (Wine Zip Bag, Buttoned Boxes, Zipper Pocket Gift Wrap.) Theresa has joined the "switch hitters" club and is sewing up a storm in addition to beading. She's fallen in love with the Mondo Bag and is eager to show you how to make one. You can also see Dessie and Rose Mary's new beading classes plus a new earring Theresa is offering in her Circular Brick Stitch class.  Click here to see all of our classes on the website, Click here to see the calendar.
steering wheel cover It's still plenty hot here in our desert--maybe it's time to whip up a cool steering wheel cover. Here's one in progress from Rose Mary's student, Linda Dekloft. Click here or on the picture to order Rose Mary's pattern.
Check out What's New below to see some more of the things we put out on the floor last week.
One last thing--you can pick up your free Row by Row pattern through the end of business today (Tuesday.) After that they are available for purchase--just $6 each. You can pre-order kits at the shop or over the phone for shipping beginning November 1. We'll have kits up on the website when mid-September (it's still "get the heck out of the desert whenever you can" time for my staff!)

We hope to see you soon.

Suzy Toronto describes herself as "...a tad wacky and just shy of crazy." Nothing can make you grin (and giggle) like one of Suzy’s bright inspirational mouse pads. They are great for the workplace or at home.   – oh, and did we mention FUN?

double decker xmas Join Santa's reindeer as they climb aboard double decker busses and scooters in Northcott's Double Decker Xmas. There's a panel and yardage--oh! And it's the Reindeer Dash collection so you'll get a fat quarter from the collection at each shop you visit during the run.
Speaking of panels, this one makes into a playful goody bag. It includes optional directions for stringing some battery operated lights onto the bag--sure to delight trick-or-treaters and increases safety in the dark.  goody bag
