Quilt Run starts this Thursday!

Monica's Message
A Message from Monica

Hi, Everyone!
Well I finally had a weekend off, all to myself…with Patric. LOL. We went camping at Hurley Creek up in Idyllwild. It was amazing—just sitting there doing nothing but enjoying life! I think I could get used to that.
But, Monday always arrives and it was work, work, work from the moment I walked in the door. We are revamping the store for the BIG Southern California Quilters Run that starts this Thursday. Miguel has done a terrific job hanging up all the new quilts, Mary helped with some of the quilt samples and our block that, once again, was designed by Sharon Picciolo (who designed the award winning quilt for us last year.) Everyone MUST make it to the desert during the run to get our block ‘cause it’s amazing. I mean it! My good friend Kaye made hundreds of new samples for the store and everything looks brand new. I hope all of you plan to stop by. Plus, since we are the Coffee Shop on Main Street, you can enjoy biscotti and almond cookies.
We have successfully pulled all 92 kits for the first two weekends of our Desert Quilting Retreats. There may still be a spot or two open--give us a call if you are interested. More fabrics are still coming in to help us pull for the last two much to do. Good thing I love what I do!
Check out What's New below to see some of the fabrics we put out on the floor last week. Emily is still busy rearranging the findings on the bead side--hours and hours to move, reorganize, and clean out as she goes. It's gonna be great when it's all done.
Remember, no Sit-n-Sew, Beading Babes or classes until the run is over. See you after July 21st.
Read on to see what's new. We hope to see you soon.

What's New

Lots of things come into the store each week--some new, some returning. We can't share everything, but here are some of our favorites.

Ravens Claw
I just love every print in the Ravens Claw collection! We have a bunch of prints and 3 panels--one for a quilt, one for place mats (that's a place mat in the photo above) and one for an apron and oven mitts.

fall foliage

This harvest wreath panel is 24" wide. A beautiful way to welcome the change of seasons.
Spot On has dots in 3 scales and styles. I especially like the big, colorful dots. Here's an example of each size, from largest (a little larger than 1-1/2" across) to smallest. large spots
middle spots small spots
Creepy Halloweenie
The Creepy Halloweenie collection features cats, bats, spiders, pumpkins and more in bright colors
happy christmas
While we can't actually build snowmen in the desert, it's sure fun to use them in holiday projects. The Happy Christmas collection is of full of images to make you smile.

Classes, Classes, Classes!

The quilt side is on summer break. Look for the September thru December schedule in late July.

On The Bead Side
We offer over a hundred different jewelry-making classes! Each of our teachers has their own style and focus. They are always trying new techniques, tools and products to offer you classes using the latest and greatest in the bead world. Our schedule for July and August is more casual and class dates and times are not listed for July and August on the website. Call the store to see when you can take a class from any of our teachers.
