Big Sale Father's Day Weekend!

Monica's Message
A Message from Monica

Good morning!
What a great weekend it was. I got to hike every day and on Saturday, while hiking up in Joshua Tree, I saw another desert tortoise. That’s two this year! They must be attracted to me because I have tortoises (LOL.) I also went to a couples baby shower for my son Rafael’s best friend from school, Colin. All the kids--well, they are grown now and have their own kids--told me that I haven’t changed one bit. Boy does that make you feel good. Whether it’s true or not it’s nice to hear!
The shop is busy getting ready for our great Father’s Day Weekend Sale that starts this Friday. Spend at least $50.00 and get 10% off, spend at least $75.00 get 15% off and spend $100.00 or more and get 20% off. That’s the kind of sale I like--I can buy what I want and it’s on SALE! Stock up on findings, crystals, buy that gemstone strand you’ve been eyeing…grab fabric for quilt backs, buy cork for your next bag project, choose some gorgeous fat quarter bundles or jelly rolls, kits, stock up on batting...
We are also getting ready for the 2019 Row by Row Experience which starts June 21. Ours is adorable, of course--you can see it in What's Happening below. And the Southern California Quilters Run is two weekends next month: July 11-14 & 18-21. We are the “coffee shop” and just wait till you see our block!!! So cute.
The bead side is busy pricing new gemstone strands and restocking sizes 6, 8 and 11 seeds--fabulous new metallic seeds came in, too. Fabric still arrives daily--almost every table in the classroom is covered with new bolts right now. Yikes! Kaffe Fassett Classics, Christmas, Halloween, lots of coffee-themed fabric in honor of our quilt run theme, batiks, florals--you should hear the "oohs" and "aahs" as we open each box. Take a look at What's New below to see some of the new things.
We are taking a short break this summer in the classroom--there will be no sewing/quilting classes in July and August. If you've been thinking about taking a class, they are scheduled through June and will be back in September. Oh--Wednesday night group, no worries--Sit and Sew will go all summer (with exceptions.)
The beading teachers will carry on as usual, but the classes won't have summer dates on the website so you'll need to schedule directly with the shop. We'll post their "teaching days" on the website like we used to do before we had class registration on the website. We'll have a link in this message as soon as it's ready. As always, the first two people to register determine what is taught that day.
Read on to see what's new and to see some of the classes coming up. We hope to see you soon.

A new shipment of Kaffe Fassett Classics came in--and more is on its way.

Batiks from a couple of different fabric vendors came in--lots of new prints in fresh colors.
 garden of dreams
The Garden of Dreams collection is  digitally printed--so detailed that many of the prints look like batiks. 33 bolts plus jelly rolls.
blue fire quartz

We have two different shapes of  blue fire quartz beads with bits of pyrite running through them.

Editor's note: my apologies--I wrote down the wrong description for this photo! These are lovely stones but I'm sure they are not faceted chrysophase (which we also have.)
The size of these free form Chinese amazonite beads is somewhere between a nickel and a dime.
Strands of fancy jasper rondelles in 2 shapes. 8mm rounds and 8 x 12mm lozenges.
