Bugs Galore, Bead Metamorphosis, Cork and more

Monica's Message

Hi, Everyone!
So, for those of you who know Monica, it will be no surprise to learn that she texted Evelia with store ideas at 5:30am her time (5:30 pm our time) from halfway around the world. Her nickname, Gramma Go-Go, is well-earned! She has several more days of glorious sun and surf before heading home. Naturally, she is only here a couple of days before heading out with Miguel for back-to-back shows in Boise, Idaho and Albuquerque, NM. We are busy making sure all the new things that arrive daily are cut, packed and ready to go into the show van.
Every day we say good-bye to more of our Seasonal friends. We already miss you and can hardly wait until you come back! For those of you braving the summer desert heat, we look forward to hanging out with you and complaining about the weather together.
Rose Mary is teaching the new Washi Tunic this Sunday and told us she'd be happy to teach the Aloha Dress at the same time! So, if you want to spend a day learning from one of the best couture clothing designers, register for either class this Sunday--the Aloha is back up on the website with Sunday's date. Having taken the Twirly Skirt class from her, I can tell you I learned more in that class than in all the years I spent making my own clothes. Truly! Click on the photos for more info and to register through our website, give us a call, or come in to see us. We do require registration and payment in advance.

Remember—there will be NO Sit & Sew from May 7 to 17. All of you Wednesday night quilters, mark your calendars! We’ll see you tomorrow and again when she gets back.

                       Hope to see you soon!

What's New--here are some of the items that came in last week

Cork is back in stock! We have both 18" x 27" and 13" x 18" sheets of this fabulous product that is a renewable alternative to leather. Beautiful rich solid colors, prints with florals or bold geometrics--you'll have trouble choosing! It sews like fabric with a regular 80/12 universal needle and cotton thread. Monica and Miguel will have plenty on the road with them, so if you are attending the Rusty Barn show in Boise or Albuquerque, be sure to check it out.
 bead metamorphosis

Discover how you can morph your jewelry designs from simple to exquisite with former Beadwork Designer of the Year Lisa Kan. Learn to create romantic bead-woven jewelry that is reversible, convertible, interchangeable or otherwise transformable.

Pretty. Playful. Pinnies! Best-selling author Carrie Nelson packs 40 adorable pinnies with personality. Pincushions are quick to stitch and so addicting--no quilter can make just one. And why make just one when they're so easy to create? Simply sew, quilt, turn, and stuff. Display them as singles or in pleasing piles. You'll want to sew just for the joy of it.

 pucker up bag

Designed for use with Bosal Stitch & Steam, the Pucker Up cross body bag is made with a "crinkle" look. Just layer the Stitch & Steam, batting and fabric, stitch, hover your steam iron and watch the fabric shrink and pucker.

Azure Skies is a large floral print with modern flowers high contrast color and value.
